    Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our clients finance team. This vital role involves managing comprehensive financial records, ensuring accuracy in all bookkeeping activities, and supporting the organization’s financial health.     Responsibilities

    • Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
    • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
    • Prepare and record journal entries accurately in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
    • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
    • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to verify data integrity.
    • Process payroll, manage tax-related filings, and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards.
    • Assist with budgeting processes and financial report writing for internal review and external audits.
    • Manage accounts payable by verifying invoices, processing payments, and maintaining vendor records.
    • Handle account reconciliation tasks including debits & credits, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
    • Support non-profit or governmental accounting functions if applicable, ensuring adherence to specific regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including double-entry bookkeeping entries.
    • Support year-end closing activities and prepare documentation for external audits.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within corporate or non-profit accounting environments.
    • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage, or equivalent tools.
    • Strong understanding of financial concepts including GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
    • Experience with bank reconciliation, payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting is highly desirable.
    • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes along with technical accounting skills.
    • Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
    • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and external vendors.
