    Overview:
    We are looking for a skilled and dependable Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to join a busy, well-established garage in Portadown. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles while ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles
    • Diagnose faults using both manual inspection and diagnostic equipment
    • Perform MOT preparation work and general vehicle inspections
    • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
    • Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used
    • Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and repairs
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
    • Work as part of a team while also being capable of working independently

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a mechanic or vehicle technician
    • Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent)
    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models
    • Good attention to detail and time management
    • Full UK driving licence (preferred or required depending on role)

    Desirable Skills:

    • Experience with diagnostic tools and modern vehicle systems
    • MOT testing certification (advantageous but not essential)
    • Experience with diesel engines and light commercial vehicles

    Working Hours:
    (Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturday work if required)
